SymChem: The Delegative Approach

This is the initial meeting between Kim Bailey, Project Manager, SymChem, and his new line manager, the Director of Operations, European Division of SymChem. Kim Bailey leads ten senior engineers responsible for delivering the Xena-II Process Review Project. The line manager has called the first meeting to introduce himself and to discuss some immediate issues that have come to his attention about Xena-II. The Director of Operations has chosen to adopt a Delegative style of leadership decision making to address the lack of progress with Xena-II. The viewer's task is to assess the merits of the Delegative approach in light of how Kim Bailey presents himself and the challenge that lies ahead.
