Take The PJI-Mini
TAKE THE PJI-MINI COMING SOON
You are invited to complete the PJI-Mini — a small selection of scenarios similar to those found in the Parenting Judgement Indicator itself. These are designed to give you a practical feel for the PJI’s purpose, potential, and everyday usefulness.
To begin, you will need a pen and a blank piece of paper. Please start by completing the example scenario entitled 'Day Out With Grandmother.
Like all PJI scenarios, A Day Out With Grandmother includes sufficient information for you to work out which which of the four decision-making approaches shown in the diagram here is likely to be the best fit — taking into account the specific circumstances and the nature of the children involved.
Once you have completed the example, move on to the PJI-Mini itself. Score your responses, review the interpretation guidance, and reflect on the developmental insights that emerge. The PJI-Mini contains five family situations where a decision is required. Your task is to put yourself in the position of the parent or carer and decide upon the appropriateness of different ways of dealing with each situation. You are simply to work your way through the PJI-Mini until you have answered each of the scenarios.
